Ten pounds of cigars, snacks and sundries to this fine unit - much of it donated by the great folks at C-Bid, both the B/SOTL and the site owners, CI. Thanks.

Dear Beth,
26 March 2010

Thank you so much for the box of cigars I received. I'm not a
smoker myself, but I will share them with the many military and civilian
members in my unit over here in Afghanistan. I am retired military. I
retired in 2002 after serving over 20 years in the US Army as a
counterintelligence officer. I still work for the Army as a civilian
doing intelligence and security work. Around Christmas I decided to
volunteer to deploy to serve my country again. I arrived in Afghanistan
in February. I am the unit S-2, intelligence and security officer. My
unit is rather unique in that we have more civilians than we do
military. Our unit is responsible for providing all of the equipment for
the US Army and sometimes the other branches of service from clothing
and weapons to vehicles and everything in between. We have to determine
what equipment a unit needs, acquire the equipment, get it to the unit
on time as they enter country and maintain it or fix it if it gets
damaged.

The link below is the website for Bagram Airfield where I am
stationed. There is a lot of information and photos on the site about
our mission and the local area.

Thank you again for your support and best wishes to you and your
organization.
Sincerely,
